Scanning The Unscannable – Improving patient flow in MRI

This presentation covers an introduction to basic MRI safety and some of the barriers faced by technologists in safely imaging patients with certain medically implanted devices. The presentation will differentiate between the three primary factors in determining the safe MR imaging parameters/techniques to provide safer patient care and will provide some options for improving volumes as a result of being able to safely image patients that were previously considered “unscannable.” The information presented may decrease interruptions to radiologists and build better relationships with ordering providers.
