Keynote Address – Joint Commission Update: Diagnostic Imaging Services – Survey results, future directions
An abbreviated review of the revised diagnostic imaging standards will be presented along with the results of surveys with imaging standards scored since July 1, 2015. The process of evaluating compliance with the new and revised imaging standards during the on-site survey will be described. The SAFER matrix will be described. There will be examples of ways to demonstrate compliance with the new and revised imaging standards to promote safety and patient care. Areas for future standard development will be introduced.
Andrea Browne is a Medical Physicist in the Department of Engineering at The Joint Commission. In this role since 2014, she serves along with five engineers providing interpretation of standards including the new Advanced Diagnostic Imaging standards. Ms. Browne also assists in supporting the Life Safety, Environment of Care and Emergency Management Standards, and she serves as faculty for educational programs.
